The Asynchronous Drone Orchestra

ImNotHere is the stage name of Davide Barucca (Ancona, 1988), a musician and multi-instrumentalist who began his career as a percussionist and moved into electronic music via the rhythmic jungles of jungle and drum ’n’ bass. Raised between Macerata and Ancona, he alternated between keyboards and drum machines (with DrainBrain and later as a DJ in the duo MainVoid), followed by a brief stint on keyboards with Universound (winners of the Il Mangiadischi competition), and then his experience - significant but not his debut - with Full Vacuum, a historic band from Ancona. The next step was the discovery of modular synthesizers, with the idea of weaving sound design and improvisation with piano and alto saxophone. As IMNOTHERE, he presents an electronic improvisation performance using both modular and non-modular synthesizers, in a journey of sonic exploration aimed at creating landscapes and moods, blending rhythmic interplay, spatial atmospheres, and alto saxophone interludes. In 2024, he released his first solo electronic EP and performed at various events dedicated to electronic music organized by Milano Modulare, Roma Modulare, and Acusmatiq.
