Paco Maddalena

Paco Maddalena, who graduated in Art History from Dams in Bologna in 2004, has always been involved in cinema and music. He is a filmmaker and director of photography in the film industry in Italy, and an author of films, documentaries, short films, commercials, music videos, and installations, which have been awarded and recognized at many Italian and international festivals, including the Venice Biennale, the Rome Film Festival, the Cefalú Film Festival, and the Latina Independent Film Festival. He has always been active as a musician as well: in addition to being a bassist and guitarist for various post-rock bands, he is a composer of electroacoustic and generative music, producing soundscapes with a decidedly experimental and dreamlike tone: audiovisual installations, film soundtracks, readings, theatrical productions, and video art are some of the fields he explores using field recordings, analog tapes, synthesizers, and eurorack modular systems. He lives between Rome and Brindisi.
